[Melodic Dubstep] The Little Things

So I've pretty much wrapped up production on this, so I've uploaded it to Clyp. I might do some minor edits, so that's why no SoundCloud link is ready yet.

But boy was this song a trip. It started with a melancholic chord progression for some pads I had created. As I continued working on it, it slowly became a release for pent up emotions. Anger, frustration, anguish... it all washed away as the melodies evolved into a soaring, hopeful spiral of light. True, that somber tone is still there, but that doesn't stop it from being a bright, uplifting song.

I don't know if I would call this dubstep, but I really enjoyed this song! The composition is superb, and it's mixed really well. Keep it up!

(the only reason why I wouldn't call it dubstep is because I'm used to hearing heavy FM synthesis when people refer to dubstep)

It's technically melodic dubstep, not the more commonly associated vein of brostep (like skrillex or kill the noise). But I'm glad you liked it!

Nice, the change of emotional hue in the intro makes it quite clear what you're talking about, although I didn't perceive an emotion as strong as anger in the track.

The anger I was feeling at the time didn't actually make it into the track. I guess the best way I could put it is the more I worked on it, the more that anger and frustration I had been feeling seeped away.

Anger and frustration related to the practice of music writing itself? or related to the difficult life moments you were talking about in another topic?

I'll go more in depth in the SoundCloud version.

I listen to this track differently. It is not obvious to hear what is behind appearances. Nice.

edited (it was missing the word "not" ...)
Holy crap! 2,000 plays and counting since I posted this last week! Thanks for all the support everyone!
