A failed try of bass hip hop, vibey-tripy sort of instrument

A friend of mine made the background with Organic plugin and I kinda built it off of there, was looking for some constructive critcism.
And also a question, why does it sound so "empty" like it needs to have something more in the background but, if I add any more it'll just sound crowded and lose the point.

It sounds good so far.

Tip: Maybe if there was, a slightly heavy sounding, drum and bass style bass sound
thrown in there, it might full up the tune more, and make it sound extra cooler.
