I am fairly new to this, so any feedback would be appreciated.

Here's a song I made by adding vocals to one of my beats:

Great mate. Was it your first try? If it was then its excellent if not then few things can be improved but anyways an awesome track. Keep up the good work.

Regards,
Shane.

Hi Shane!

Yes, this was my first project with LMMS, that i have been woorking on for a few months. I'm still trying to do better mastering of it, but I would say that I am very happy about the result.

Sounding good dude! :D
But all this needs now, is a bass melody. 8-)

Tip: The bass melody, can start to play, around 35 secs. 8-)

Hi Brandy Starbrite!

Thanks for the feedback!

I followed your advice and made a new version, this time with bass:

Very, very good! It sounds much better now, with the bass melody.
That was the thing, that was missing from this track.
If you want, I think you could raise up, the volume of the bass a tiny bit more. Not up too
much though. Just by a good amount.

Hi Cepe,

Your first results are really great. I'm working on a new project - it should be a reggae song, so I thought you could share some tips. Unfortunately, the second reference link is not working, it says: "This track was not found. Maybe it has been removed" How to make a reggae beat in LMMS correctly? I'm interested in a Jamaican style. Thank you.

Oh okay it's here, sorry ^^

So :
- The first link : I like the vibe, even if it's far with what I call "reggae", and not what I realy listen daily, but the vibe is cool, and the sound is clean. So, for people who love that kind of sound, it must be good. Well done anyway and thank you for sharing !

Note :
- If your goal is to give a little more reggae touch to the sound, the base is "groove" with a good background bass (ideally natural... With a bass guitar) for a good bass that sounds reggae. Then at least one copper instrument if you really want it to sounds reggae. With a trumpet and/or "bass trombone" for example. Because there personally I find that the background sound sounds a little "dance". Press on the groove with a good bass and at least one copper instrument. It'll change everything. By keeping a good rhythm of percussions (natural if you can ^^ (drums, djembe...), 1 time on 2 (or 3) for example, for a "classical reggae sound", rather slow (like roots..) (:

And the second link still doesn't work for me though... ):

Good continuation with that, my friend !
And having fun is the most important thing. Do what you love first (:
Peace :!:
