"BLUESTAR" Album (are you afraid ?)

Hi,

I made that album called “Bluestar”, if you have a bit time to listen and tell me if you like it…
It is a kind of “musical polar” album, which tells an imaginary story from the beginning to the end and where each track is a chapter. The story evocates a regression in the past of the hero, who is a child today but was a singer in his past life, so each track allows to understand what happened before the previous one.

Here are the links to the tracks, and just below, some explanations.

Track 1 : Chicago, 1930

“Bluestar” tells the story of a child who makes a recurrent dream at night, that often turns into a nightmare when it goes too far. Each night he goes further and further, but not too far because he is afraid. With experience, he understands that he is dreaming of his past life, that was taking place in Chicago in year 1930.

Track 1 “Chicago 1930” is introducing the landscape of the story. Music tries, if it’s possible, to evocate red bricks, black cars and hats… and weapons.
The child assumed that it went wrong for him at this time, but realized he had to be brave and explore the dream deep enough to find the dark secret of his past life, and free himself of it.

Track 2 “Dream from the window” is about the night during which the hero decided to do that exploration. You can see the boy on the picture, and it became so strong that he feels the dream as if it was real – and now.

Track 3 “Dangerous streets” : the streets symbolize the distance he must walk to discover the truth of his past life. Musically, to represent that way, this track is made as a long and evolutive melody that never stop from the beginning to the end. He walks along several streets, so music evaluates in the background, but the melody never stops.

Track 4 “Bluestar on a red stage” : After a while, as early morning is approaching, the streets lead our hero to a place where cops are investigating with Bluestar : the hero understands it is potentially a crime scene, and himself, potentially the victim. I don’t think that Bluestar already existed in 1930, but I needed it, so… It happens near a stage and the hero understands he probably was a singer in his past life. The music tries to evocate that scene, that place, the atmosphere it should be and the revelation on approach.

Track 5 “Scary revelations”: In this track, Bluestar tells, and the hero understands that he died ad this place in his past life. Now, he sees the place where his body was. The music evocates the last minutes of his past life, when his body was fighting in vain to stay alive. The second part of the track is a long synth solo (like heavy metal bands do with a guitar) to mean that the body doesn’t want to give up, but It’s too late and the last notes are made by his heart that stops beating.

Track 6 “Kiss you kill me” is the explanation – and the replay - of how the hero had been killed. He sees the scene, a dance with his girlfriend. He seemed to be in love with her and had not understood she was a demoniac girl. She invited him in a sensual dance and when he realized who she was, it was too late… In that track, music tries to be both sensual and frightening.

Hope you'll enjoy !

Hi Axl.
I've took a sneek peak on all your tracks.

I must say I'm not a fan of this music style, but the track that I enjoyed the most was number 6 “Kiss you kill me”.
It is deffenitly the one that fits closer to my own music style. I question some of your choices about keeping some noises that in my opinion are too much repeated, one of them is the sound you've used for the snare, but in general this is a great track. Probably one of your best, so far.

In general, this song is really interesting and fun to ear. You might hit on something good here.

About the others I didn't enjoyed them as much.
The number 3 has some interesting parts about the eleds, but it feels like it misses the glue you've used on the 6.

keep rocking :D
Hi André,

Thank you for all your attention and this feedbak, with both general feelings and details.
I prefer tracks 2 and 6, and I was asking myself if they were the better ones or if it was just my own preference… now I begin to get an answer.

In track 6, I did not use any kind of glue but I put more varied samples and maybe they match together and make that glue effect.

It's the first full feedback I get about the full album, it will be very useful for me so many thanks.
I already thanked Brandy for all advices, it's so important to improve one's skills.

I saw that you already made a lot of electro tracks, I will listen to all of them carefully.

See you all soon,
Axl
