Video game music

Hello :)

A friend of mine is making some sort of independent video game and I proposed myself to help him with the soundtrack.

So far I have produced two pieces :

This one is about exploring a post-apocalyptic world. The hero of the game can try to find his way in a sort of maze and fight some monsters...

...And this one is the fight music. Can even work for a boss, I think.

I do not see any improvement to add myself, any suggestions ?

Thanks
On the first, I don't imagine a post-disaster universe. Maybe something more minimalist, with long notes?

The second glue well for a fight scene (with or without boss), especially when the drums hit hard.

Sounds like it's for an exploration stage, for an adventure video game.
But I don't get an apocalyptic feel in it though.

Sounds more like a boss battle, for an adventure game.

But in all honesty, both game tracks, sound good by the way. :)
Hehe thanks for your comment.

I am glad that these two sound good, I actually made them without music theory much, so I had to guess by ear what sounds nice.

You are not the only one to describe the first one as exploration stage; I guess I did not make it frightening enough.

Still I sometimes have this melody in my head, like a lullaby.

Thanks again :)

Video game music is the soundtrack that accompanies video games. Early video game music was once limited to simple melodies of early sound synthesizer technology.
Yep. Very true. From the late 70's, all the way through the 80's. 8-)
Good ol' 8bit and 16 bit etc.

PS: And one more thing Lucille86. Please stop posting links to those apps. ;)
Thank you. 8-)

The first one is indeed triggering some apocalyptic feelings, however, I would rather say it's more about survival and hope, but I also liked this one: Roygbiv2 (cover Boards of Canada + Alpha Quest interlude) - https://soundcloud.com/marvin-shmn/royg ... -interlude. Sometimes, projects made without music theory are much better than those that required theoretical background. I had a couple of colleagues who managed to create masterpieces without a page of theory.
