I finally made a good kick for hardstyle in ZynAddSubFx :D

Here's a preview of what I might be working on : https://soundcloud.com/tycoonie259/lmms-2009-hardstyle

Lead is a 3 layer Zyn supersaw type of thingy, and kick also with zyn.

I'm so happy that I finally I'm getting closer to the 2009 type of hardstyle sound I want to reach in LMMS.

Opinions?
as said at sc, promising!
I like your composition. This could be a good track
That's a good composition !
But maybe ZynAddSubFx is not the best for hardstyle leads, in my opinion you should use a VSTi (free) "Synth1" I use it in my HandsUp tracks. If you push up the distorsion then you could get something interesting ! You also need an EQ to make it sounds more "clear".

So I advise you Synth1 -> http://www.geocities.jp/daichi1969/softsynth/#down
And EasyQ -> http://www.rs-met.com/software/freebies ... v11.04.zip
Then, install these 2 plugins, try to set the Synth1 & the EQ like this : https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/399 ... .03.14.png

That should sound good ! So now try tweaking the Synth and layering till you get what you want !

I hope I helped!

Thanks! Definately helped, though I currently can't seem to get synth1 working (linux user here :( )
I'll just have to use an older version I guess, I was also thinking of using a VST as a lead, though I'm not going to give up ZASFX yet ;)

You should give it a try if it works on Linux (some people use it on Linux so it should be possible i guess (?) )
And yeah ! Don't give up ZASFX ! I made "Running Along The Beach"'s lead using it -> https://youtu.be/2K7fY6upqP0
I followed this tuto -> https://youtu.be/hUI7XTHuF-A This "lmmsuser" is incredible :D To me, it sounds really good !
Synth1 should work on Linux. I use it and it works great.

Do you have wine installed ?

EasyQ however does not work on linux, it loads but no graph is drawn. :(

Really ? EasyQ does not works on Linux :/ ? Fortunately you have plenty of free EQ vst !
By the way, what vst (EQ) do you use on each tracks @Gps ?
Because EasyQ crash my LMMS sometimes and the whole project crash at opening until I finally delete EasyQ.

I have never seen that
what os / lmms-ver ?

Another eq, that is close to easyQ, is NyquistEQ
You cant set your own points, but there are 5 bands, each with 3 points, so it is quite good

here its on kvr
http://www.kvraudio.com/product/nyquist ... electronix
but there are many places you can get it
!! vir scan !!

I use the 10 band? equalizer plugin which comes with lmms.( C*eq2x2 its called)

I tried three spectrum analyzers, which do work on windows, but no luck on Linux.
So I use the build-in spectrum analyzer. Also through the fx tab, of an instrument.
It does not look that great but it works. And you can assign one to every track. So you can compare two or more tracks.
You can also put it on the fx mixer (master channel)

Windows 7 / LMMS 1.1.3

Oh Okay ! I tried to use it but I prefer to have a visual EQ, and I need high-shelving stuff etc...
But when I just need to highpass I should use lmms plugins instead of a vst (because with +30 instances of this EasyQ, the project is slow to start :/)
