New to the Fourms, here's some of my shtuff

Share and discuss your LMMS music projects here, and see what people think!
I've been using LMMS for the past year and a half. Still learning, and improving through every track I release.

Some of you may have seen me posting my tracks up the the Official SoundCloud page, I just never bothered to come onto these forums.

Well here I am, and here's some of my stuff:

Currently working on:

Past Tracks:

I'm still learning the ropes, and any help, tips, whatever will be quite grateful.
Coming from another noob's perspective, that was awesome! :D

I have no idea what genre ("style") that was, so unfortunately not much in the way of advice; but I did want to ask you about that cool robotic voice saying "I be trippin' in space!" Was that something you did within LMMS, or did you record from some other program?

Thanks also for the link to "sound cloud" - never heard of it but now I got a way to share my stuff too. :)

Peace,
Miguel

PS: Just out of curiosity, what would you call that kind of music? The only thing I could think of off-hand was "movie soundtracks" - up till the robot voice I was thinking what a great background song it would make for a movie... but then again this is another noob talking :)
Bad things I notice about http://soundcloud.com/brian-amin/moar-shiz-with-lb302 :
-The beginning is a bit too dissonant for my ears (see this thread: https://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/lmms ... ?f=4&t=656 )
-The wooooaaaaaeeeeiiiiiis (no idea what they're called officially) are too loud for me around 1:18, and the last one is one too much (again, in my ears).
-The bass is sort of strange. I'm fine with that, but dance music usually is more effective if you use another bass (you can have more than one if you master them properly) on the offbeat.
-The main leading pattern/melody isn't really that sticking for me, not sure what exactly is wrong with it.
-The mixing is pretty inconsistent in my ears, but maybe that's because of any differences between your and my speakers.

(giving only negative critique because that's what helps you. Don't think I consider you to be horrible! :P )

Style-wise, I would've said techno, maybe even trance. It's too fast for house and doesn't have enough bass for all the bass genres. Marking it as EDM isn't wrong either.
Both songs are nice. I like the second song. Called Electric Funhouse.

Strangely, 47 secs to 1:35 secs it partially reminded me of the style used for the, Techno version of "i miss you like the deserts miss the rain" But way faster. Even though your song is obviously not related.
It sounds like a mixture of mid 90's techno, with some modern style electronic music tossed into it.
The robot voice! :D Cool for this track.

haha thanks man. That means a lot.

I made that voice sound by using a free program called Espeak.

My music is a genre called "House", its a wide genre with a lot of subcategories, like electro house, experimental house, etc.

The closest thing to 90's techno I have listened to is Daft Punk. You got me started on google these kinds of songs, gonna get into some sampling and digging. Thanks!

My main source of influence would be Deadmau5, and some friends I have met on SoundCloud. Thanks a lot, and thanks for the support! Keep trippin in Space!

That was my 2nd WIP, and I went beyond that, 20 days ago, lol, I updated it:

http://soundcloud.com/brian-amin/even-moar-shiz-wip-3

It's EDM, over that month I talked to some friends I met online, learned more about classifying my own music, its EDM.

The Beginning panning of the WIP 2 is a bit..stupid, I agree, I didn't even try on that part.
The WOOOIEEEHS, its called an Uplifter, I toned it down, I originally added a flanger plugin, which made it loud and obnoxious, I took it out in the 3rd one, thanks

Most of my music is never bass heavy, I try not to focus on it. But in WIP 4 (Haven't uploaded it yet), I improve on it greatly

Thanks for bashing my music lol. I'm not saying this in a mean or horrible way lol. I really like it when people give me their opinions on what sucks in a song. From this I try to fix that problem and go beyond it.

Thanks.
