LMMS takes a while to load and crashes.

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello, whenever I launch LMMS it takes at least 5 mins to load, stuck on Preparing UI. Also, when ever I try to open any other project the whole program doesn't respond and crashes. I dont have any themes installed, if you guys could help any that would be appreciated. :D

Also, here my specs:
Windows 10
16GB ram
Intel Core i7-4720HQ CPU 8 CPUS (2.6GHz)
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 965M

That sounds to me like you are either using a very old release, og worse, not one of ours...
Get newest official LMMS here:

Make sure you have removed everything from your current installation, before you install again -read

Thanks for replying, but I believe I do have the latest version, I downloaded it from that link about a week ago, it's version 1.2.2.

Then we have an odd situation
Did you make a default install? -Or did you made your own selections for files or folders?
My thoughts are that you have pointed to a folder, where windows enforce limited access for programs(?)
Its quite fine to make a customized userfile-installation, but it must be outside the folders protected by windows-defender (Windows-folder and programs-folder).
This is what i want you to do
First delete the 1.2.2 install-package and download a brand new one.
Then remove your current installation. Follow this guide:
https://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=In ... w_versions
Then re-install -I recommend you to make a default installation.
Let us know the outcome :)

Thanks once again for the reply, I actually had reinstalled the program once, I originally installed it on my C: drive, and then reinstalled it but i put it on my F: drive (which is external) and same result. I just reinstalled once again on my C: drive, and same result :(

I am going to send you a file in PM
You have to use that file as replacement of another file.
I do not guarantee that this will work, but it is something we need to try
So look in your PM-folder.

Sh.. 🙄!

Right.........
What to do next........
Virus-scanner..
Some virus-scanners are blocking installations if a program is not signed with microsoft. It is a security 'thing', but for freeware it is never an option, because it is very expensive to sign with MS!

I want you to disconnect form the internet,
restart pc
Make sure there are no connection neither cable or wireless!
Disable all virus-protection
Install lmms
Restart PC
Make sure virus-protection is active again
connect to internet again
Restart pc
start lmms......... cross fingers 😶
