Ok.. You are very brief in your posts, also you have not told us, what version of LMMS you have installed
Does it make a difference? 1.2.0.r7

yap. 1.1.3 no scale
No it doesn't make a difference, since

Currently there is no simple fix for LINUX" (https://lmms.io/documentation/LMMS_Settings)

So my question remains.

So my question remains.
You should look for answers in a LINUX forum. Surely there must be a fix for LINUX users with 4K+ screens.
Visit a forum specific for your distro, and post a specific question about scaling-programs on 4K+ screens. How does other linux-programs behave?
Just remember to subsitute "LMMS" instead of "photoshop" in the manifest file.
Can't really take credit for this, I just did what someone else recommended in this forum a few months ago
