Bass sounds wrong

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
So I've been working mainly with piano sounds because when I try and add bass it noticeably doesn't sound right, as if it's not in tune with the piano, even if it's a direct copy of the same notes.
I've tried lots of different bass sounds, the ones included and also some VSTs I added.
Any ideas?

Quite difficult to access a problem with no example to listen to....
Of cause the obvious one is that either base-note or PITCH is not the same on the two presets, but you already have checked that -right?
please post your:
* OS (+service-pack-version)
* lmms version
* lmms sound device chosen
* a sound-file on soundcloud or a similar service
Here is an example: https://clyp.it/dhr0v2jo

Pitch is correct.

LMMS 1.3.3 latest one
I'm using Win 8
i-5 - 2537m 1.40 GHz
4gb RAM
Windows 8 x64
Doesn't seem to have a sound card - just says Intel Display Audion and Realtek High Definition Audio

Some of the notes, sound a bit out of key.
And a few, sound as if they are playing too early and too late, during the later part of the audio clip.

I guess, you'll have to play around with and move around the notes some more, to make sure
they sound in key and go in time with the piano melody. :)

I had to listen to that audio clip, about 8 times, to figure out, what was wrong with it. Lol! :mrgreen:
use the scale-tool from the context menu for the piano-keys in piano-roll
That will let you see where you have the scale mistakes.

That was a bad example of audio. This one is in C major and bass and piano are in sync. It's not the music itself that's the problem. It's just used as an example of how the bass and other instruments don't seem to sound right together. https://clyp.it/12xkc3ih
This happens to me all the time and I have to pitch the instrument a few semitones to get the right sound.

I am surpriced. I have not yet had that problem with a SF2. It happens -always- with everything i make this way:

But that would be more strange if it did not :)

Can you let us take a look at a mmp?
What's an mmp? (noob question)

So is the bass and piano out of tune with each other or am I just imagining it? To me, it really doesn't sound right, and I'm not able to use bass in my projects. https://clyp.it/4sm34n0q

I've had a go at changing the pitch but I can't get that to work either.

Mmpz is the file save format for an Lmms project.
When you save a project in Lmms, it is saved as an .mmpz file.

Thanks for uploading the new clip. The notes seems to be in sync with each other now.

But as you yourself said, and you are right, both sounds are not sounding right with each other.
I went through this problem, a few times in the past too.
Sometimes, it's a mystery problem.

When this happened to me, when I was using Synth 1, I would turn the pitch dial
and it would work and the sounds would match each other.

Another option would be, to play around with the synths wave forms and see if the bass would somehow matches with your piano melody.

Or, make a bass sound and see what happens from there.

If none of the above suggestions work, let musikbear check out your Lmms projects .mmpz file.
So he could find out, what is causing the problem.
