Imported Audio File Sound Not Working

So I want to import the vocals to a frank sinatra song into my lmms project. When I import the song into the sample song on the song editor, the song will show up but no sound will play when played through. I tried converting the file to WAV and AIFF and still not working. All the other sound in lmms works for everything else but I cant figure out how to get the sound file to play in the song editor.

any suggestions?

check if you incidently have
* muted its mixer channel
* have mixer slider at 0
* have preset slider at 0
* have a fx-insert that block output (mixer ao preset fx-tab

also check if the soundfile play back in audacity or winplayer or... whatever

else i need to see the project

I guess you are using the sample track. Unfortunately it is a little bit broken. You can play the sample only from the beginning. Be sure the play head hits the start of the sample.

In the upcoming version of lmms it will be possible to play a sample from every position.
