How do you import audio NOT AS A SAMPLE

I want to use a song to make a techno remix of it. I take the file and it turns it into an audio SAMPLE file to use as an INSTRUMENT. How do you import a sound file WITHOUT it turning into a sampler? I am able to do this with Studio One 3(before it didn't give any playback for no apparent reason) but for some weird reason I can't figure out how to do it with LMMS. Any tips?

So you want to use it as an audio-track, right?
In lmms we call those tracks for sample-tracks, thats why your request creates confusion :P
But sample-tracks are tracks with imported sound-files. You can read about sample-tracks, and how to use them here:
