Recording a sample in real time

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hi there, new to the software and forums. Big hello.

Here's what I'm trying to do. I have a beat going in the song editor, and I managed to figure out how to get that working. But in the sample library there's an effect I want to use in a certain way. I'm not quite sure how to do this. The effect when its opened up can be played by the keyboard or by clicking the keys on the little window it has in its own and when I play notes whilst a song is playing in song editor I can't record it as I'm listening to it. How do I just record what I'm playing into the track in the song editor? Can it be done?

No LMMS cant (yet) record to a sound-file. That is wht almost everyone here also download, and use Audacity It is free, solid and are well maintained
We dont hesitate to recommend it :

After you have recordes and trimmed the new sample, you will most likely want to use it in lmms -right?
