I found out that the LV2 plugin support is already possible with the carla plugin.

you have to add the kxstudio repositories

then type the following cmds

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install lmms
sudo apt-get install carla
sudo apt-get install carla-git
when you open lmms again you have the carla patchbay and carla rack listed in your instrument plugins.
if you add the carla rack to your songeditor you can open the carla GUI.
in the carla GUI you have to define the right path for the LV2 folder and refresh.
after that you can use all plugins that are found in the defined folders.
for testing i loaded the Calf fluid synth opend a *.sf2 soundfont and added the Calf reverb.
the Calf synth was controlled by the piano roll in the song editor.
thx to falkTX for the support in linuxmusician forum (search for:
[SOLVED] LMMS, Carla and Arch64
thread).

after exporting the lmms project to a *.wav i could here all effects defined in the carla GUI rack.

maybe this information can help you.
Hi bigjuergo, or whoever is reading this.

I know this is an old post, but I thought I'd give it a try.

Did you manage to solve your problem of getting carla plugin rack and bay to work within LMMS?

I've got a similar problem and was referred to LMMS at Discord, but have problems logging in there.

Thanks.
this won't work for ubuntu users :( i need Special support
How can sudo apt get not work for ubuntu, I am confused.

This is an ls post though, you now need rc6. you can install that with the apimage from the download page.
carla isn't in the kxstudio repositories, only carla-git, and it just doesn't show up in lmms
Carla git is probably the right package.

Best way to install LMMS, is to go to download page and download the appimage file.

Orange button, 64 bit Linux version.
https://lmms.io/download/#linux

Git means the package is original from here:

https://github.com/

In less technical terms its the latest version of Carla.

I installed the apimage on openSUSE, and it gives me Carla. strange.

I do have Carla git installed too though.
maybe i should download again the appimage, also did you "installed" the appimage or you just added it to the desktop? i dont know how to install an appimage, and sorry for my bad english
