How do I use Helm in LMMS in Linux?

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I've downloaded and installed both LMMS and Helm (brand new user).

Now how do I use it?

My sidebar doesn't contain Helm.

I tried setting my VST path in LMMS settings to:

/home/myuser ; /usr/lib/lxvst/

and restarting, but that didn't pick up the VST either (FAQ says it should be in that folder: http://tytel.org/helm/faq/)

Please help.

Sadly, you do not. Helm is one of few VSTs that does not run on lmms. The list is short

But helm is on it.

eeeeeeeee, I was about to make another post, what type of VST is Helm? (It does not also work in my win32)

I also have sforzando, sadly it does not work too in LMMS for playing my several compressed soundfont files i have downloaded for hours yea. //wasted//

I suspect LMMS cannot support certain types of VST's due to Steinberg license? (I don't know what is the content of the license, but I think, because LMMS is not licensed to support)

Its not a license issue, but there are different ways to build VSTs. Some uses a 'kit' -namely DSK, others may use some third party SDK-library.
I have found, that VSTs build by the most skilled (UHE, HG Fortune amo) that really code with the genuine SDK, they work perfect in lmms. Its the ones made with 'shortcuttings' that gives grief.
By installing the windows version and installing through wine by changing the directory (by using the command cd) to wherever the file is and entering this command: wine start filename.msi.
Then after installing, you then look for the .dll file in either .wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/VSTPlugins or .wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Steinberg/VstPlugins

Ohh this is a very old post!
In 1.2.2 AppImage, Helm works rigt out of the box, provided WINE is correctly installed
Have you had issues?
Besides that, since you are new in Forum
