Not able to import files

So I'm new to LMMS, and I want to import a .wav file, which I know is compatible, but the program tells me it's not and that i need to convert to one that works. I've also tried .ogg and the same thing happens. Any ideas how I might fix this?

Yes thats 'true', but if it is a file from a karaoke-collection, they can be 'blocked', for that reason -do the following with a file from our collection in Samples
Basically Lmms plays samples with two plugins:
* AudioFileProcessor (AFP)

The audio-file (wave or ogg) should be in the installations Samples folder.
If this fails, please post your:
* OS (+service-pack-version)
* lmms version
* hardware specification (ram & soundcard is the most important)
* Latency setting
* lmms sound device chosen

Do you have sound with other instruments -Fi. TrippleOscillator?
