Stuck note using vestige and DSK Brass

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello all, thanks for the great LMMS community.

I have a project that uses DSK Brass in Vestige. Every time I hit the F4 note, the note gets stuck and only will stop playing when I press "Turn off all notes" in the instrument panel. I've seen old posts related to ZynAddSubFX (which I'm also using), so I was wondering if there were any solutions for this. If there aren't, do you have any suggestions for an alternative instrument for a bright sounding trumpet? (I'm working on Mambo #5).

Some details about my computer: Dell Laptop running Windows 10.

Thanks for any info

Hello all,

In general for the issue, you should also be able to mute the hanging note, if you re-hit the note, on the pc-kb

But if not, That should go away if you
* shut project down
* turn off -not sleep, you pc
* try again
Thank you for your reply musikbear. I understand that to make the sound stop, I need to click on "Show GUI" or "Turn off all notes". Is there a way to prevent it altogether? The way this is happening, I cannot export my song, or even listening to it.

Here is a brief recording of what's going on:

Thanks.

Is that after you have done a shut-down and restarted your pc?

If so
* Is the hanging note in a default instrument of the VST?
If so, you do this
* Open song-editor
* Set focus on the VST so it now is the Active-instrument
(looks like this)
Image

* Open side-bar
* select any instrument-preset
* right-click it
* Select 'send-to-active-instrument'
That will clean-out the VST-problem
* From sidebar| Instruments, drag a new fresh VST into 'active-instrument'
* From this new VST, open the dll as normal, and browse to the preset, you used originally..

Buuut If the preset is one you made yourself..
* Save the current VST-preset, as an LMMS-preset with a click on the disk-icon on the Active-instrument
* name it and place it in a logical folder, where you can find it again.
Maybe bit is best to shut down lmms here, but maby its not needed...
* select any instrument-preset
* right-click it
* Select 'send-to-active-instrument'
That will clean-out the VST-problem
Try to play the project, there should really be no hangs now..
From sidebar find the saved lmms-preset of the VST
* right-click it
* Select 'send-to-active-instrument'
Play...
I really hope that will kill the hang!

Now how to AVOID hangs!
Simple: Never manually change anything during replay in song-editor -Especially the 'Chord-stacking&arp' tab can be annoying..
Still recurring to me as today, before It used to happen more also with ZynAddSubFX (still, but extremely rarely) but with still very common with vsts, weteaver the one I use.

This bug is very old, sad they still haven't found a solution to this.
