How do I add ths SF2 plug-In in my LMMS (Mac)?

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello Everyone,

I'm a total wannabe at LMMS (or computer stuff in general, as I've always worked on Mac). The thing is, I'm very happy whith the music I write with MuseScore, except for its "rendering" (the way it sounds (?)). So I've been told to get LMMS, an have fun with it.
So, I export midi format files from every instrument I wrote in MuseScore, and import them in LMMS.
And then it says something along the lines of "hasn't been compiled with SoundFont2 reader" (sorry, roughly translated from French). And yes, in fact, after haunting the web (and LMMS forum), all I can see now is I don't have this bl**** "SF2 Player" in my list of Instrument Plugins.
So, how do I add it, in order to have my MuseScore exported midi files read ?

Thank you for the time you will take shining a light on my problem.

Richard
Hi!

I assume here that you're on lmms-1.1.3. The sf2 plugin is only available on mac in the latest beta release of lmms-1.2.0 .

Does this import of midi-files, result in blocks of notes in song-editor, looking like this:

If so, you do not need the SF-player!
You already have the midi-events imported, so even though there is no instrument, the import is successful.
You can add any instrument to any midi-sequence:
* Open sidebar
* In myInstruments drag any instrument into the track
* play
The midi-events will be played by that instrument
Then you can even chose to substitute the default-instrument, with a preset, from sidebar| myPresets

Well, in fact, you were right about my LMMS version. I've just followed and downloaded the "last" (and maybe unstable) version, and now, I can hear my import.

Thank you very much.
