Trying to use a joystick (midiyoke, rejoice 1.6)

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I'm using LMMS 1.2.0-rc5 64 bit on windows 10.

Since my keyboard controller doesn't have a wheel, I installed Midi Yoke to provide virtual midi inputs and Rejoice 1.6 to map the joystick to midi controllers and patch the keyboard through it. The only way I could find Rejoice 1.6, by the way was with the wayback machine at https://web.archive.org/web/20060905192 ... om/rejoice

I know it's working because I see the output in Midi Ox, I can even play the Microsoft GS Wavetable synth and make the notes warble with a joystick axis mapped as controller 1 which seems to be "modulation" (though it's not perfect, it maps all the way up as zero, centered is half way on and modulating).

But LMMS doesn't see any of the Midi Yoke virtual midi inputs or outputs.

Has anyone got LMMS to use a joystick as a controller with or without these programs?
Has anyone got LMMS working with these programs?

Thanks for any info,

Josh

P.S. I googled and realized that the reason that LMMS isn't seeing Midi Yoke ports is that Midi Yoke only works with 32 bit programs.

I switched from Midi Yoke to loopMIDI and now LMMS sees the ports, but I haven't been able to get it to actually USE the data from the channel.
I got some more progress.

The channel and controller number mapping seems wrong (channel 0, controller 1 in rejoice mapped to channel 1, controller 2 in LMMS), but I got the joystick controlling things, I can make the master pitch slider go up and down, but it doesn't seem to affect the sound when I'm playing or playing back.

I can connect it to a pitch slider on an instrument, and while that affects performance, the pitch shifts aren't recorded and don't play back.
