SoundFont rendering loud

occasionally when i render a track that is using a soundfont, the soundfont comes out way too loud in the mix. Not sure what causes it. This is with RC6 version on Linux

Thats too weak.
You need to make notice of what you do, or witch SF(s) this is an issue for.
It is not a general issue.

I'm using an acoustic grand piano soundfont, free. there is a bunch of CALF fx used on the SF, though not via channel send to FX rack, directly added to the SF FX section .

When it has happened it was resolved by 1) editing the volume of channel & re-rendering, and 2) changing the SF patch # & re-rendering. This is all I know about the sitch.

Some(times) FX-plugins amplifies the output
Could you try and disable the FX-chain, then play inside lmms, and then render and play
Is the loudness still significantly different?
