Random bursts of high CPU usage when playing notes

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello.
I recently just got EW Composer Cloud, however I have been having an issue.

Whenever I play a note in the PLAY software when a sample is loaded (I.E., Ministry of Rock 2 or the Hollywood Orchestra Gold series), the CPU usage spikes randomly and causes LMMS and the audio to lag and stutter. This happens a lot even if 1 instance of PLAY is loaded in the song editor with nothing else in the project

Here are the specs of my laptop and LMMS' settings.
CPU: Intel Core i7 7700HQ
RAM: 16gb
OS: Windows 10 Version 1803
LMMS Version: 1.2.0 RC6
Audio Interface: SDL
Auto Save: Disabled
If I am missing any more important information, let me know.

Can anyone tell me if there is a fix for this please?
Thanks

Great Info! You have good HW and settings.

I have to ask what this PLAY-instance is -Does the sample library need to have a special player, in order to play?
If not you should simplu load the samples you have bought directly in AFP
https://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=AudioFileProcessor
or in Sample-player

See if you can do that!

The PLAY-instance should be a unnecessary 'middle-layer' -After all, you bought the sample-pack!

First of all; I can't load the samples into LMMS' AFP or Sample Player, because the samples use a special file format, .ews

Second of all; "Play 6 is an advanced sample engine that powers EastWest’s vast virtual instrument
collection, called Play LIbraries. Each Play Library has a custom user interface with a set of controls designed to accommodate the unique needs of that library. Altogether, they make up an expansive collection of sampled instruments that range from orchestral to rock to ethnic to electronic and beyond." -Play 6 User Manual

Third of all; yes, the sample library does need that special player in order to play, since that program is the only way I can load up the sample in LMMS (Since the files that open up the samples and allow me to use and interact with the samples are files called .ewi)
Ok, quick little update.
I realized that I actually tested 1 of the sample packs (Ministry of Rock 2) before I installed all of the other sample packs, and it didn't seem have any stuttering or lag from what I remembered.

I also just tested the PLAY software without LMMS (I can open PLAY as a separate program, I still can't record the midi output, so my problem still remains. It just too confirm it's a LMMS problem and not a PLAY problem), and it worked perfectly, no lag and stuttering at all.

Just thought I would give a little update

Ok, is the PLAY-instance a VST ?
If so, we can take it in under the VST issues. If its not a VST, im afraid i have to say, that its not supported

It is a VST. In fact I just tried PLAY with another DAW, and it worked perfectly again with no stuttering and sound issues
Finally figured out why the stutters were happening.

Turns out, I set my buffer size to 1.5ms, and once I increased said size to around 100ms, it now works perfectly.
