Importing Audio Files into LMMS

I have been trying for hours to import an audio file into LMMS so I can edit it and it has not let me saying that I'm not using a format that LMMS supports but I've been using .WAV and everyone says to use it I'm extremely confused

It seems to me that the samples must weigh less than 100MB to be opened in LMMS. Does this fit your case?

I think you are using the wrong container for sound-files.
