Automation not responding

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
PROBLEM SOLVED: Knob was connected to the midi-controller, when i disconnected it the automation started working again.

Hi !

I recorded an automation track with a midi-controller, but when i play it back the automation track doesn't do anything...
There is a recording of what i have done with the knob, but the synth is not responding to it (the knob does not move). I dragged the knob i want to "automate" (from the host) to the automation track with ctrl-drag like i always do, but for some reason it's not working anymore. I'm crying.

Version: 1.2.0-rc6

Hmm..
Do you have:
* An automation-track-block with a visually drawed graph?
** How does that graph look if you double click the block, so it opens in automation-editor?

* Is the track active -eg the little green-lamp is ON

Here both an active AUT-track (top) and the corresponding view in AUT-editor is shown. How does yours look?

Yes, the recorded automation (with a uc-33) is visible, track is active, and shows up in the automation editor. It should be doing it's thing, but it doesn't :/

Now the automation is really doing nothing !!! Even if i draw it by hand :x :x :x It's driving me crazy...

Is there a chance i pressed a button that disables it or something ???

First off, shut down your pc completely. We want a clean slate..
After a coupl.of mins. restart, and create an empty new project.
Insert a Synth1 Vst, drop some random notes, and make a automation on the clip.
Does that work?
If it does NOT I guess i have to see this project
upload the project, AS MMP! -and send me the link as PM (just right-click my name in byline and choose Contact musikBear), i will take a look at it. If you do not care about copyright, you can upload the project right here, as an attachment, that everyone can see..

To Save as MMP:
* Open project
* File | save-as
* chose a name... 'xyzzxy.mmp'
press save
You can upload on any file-host like google drive
I will ofcause respect your rights

If it does work, then load the faulty project, and retry it
If it does NOT work i need to see that project

If it work, case closed :p

I FOUND IT !!! It seems that the automation does not work if the knob is still connected to my UC-33e.

Thanks anyways Musikbear.

Oh no LMMS-automation would be overridden by connections, to a HW controller like this

I will add a paragraph about that in wiki :)

I worked a lot with reason and ableton, and there was never a problem when the knob was connected to the controller. That's why it took me a while to realize it was the controller. lol

Glad everything works again ! :D
Hello,
I also have a problem recording an automatic track.
I have an Impact LX61 + Midi keyboard and want to record a guitar track together with the pitchwheel from the keyboard. I use the free DVS Guitar VST plugin (with other instruments it is the same) and the pitchwheel is automatically connect to the plugin. I've created an automatic track, connected it with pitch controls from VeSTige and set it to recording but only the notes are recorded, no automation.
I use Win7 and LMMS 1.2.0-rc7

Oh, that's tricky.
You have to record the automation track separately.
Is there a way to record this together?

Here is a guide on how to connect a MIDI-wheel to lmms:

You then 'record' the motion of the dial, in a automation track
