That is rather ambiguous,
Find a video or soundclip online, with the exact instrument sound(s), you are looking for. -Link to it!
You need to add exact timestamps, for where the wanted sound starts, and less important -ends
Like @2:32 -> 2:55

Regarding 8-bit, please open a new ticket. We only want one question / ticket.
Hi, you can find all the violin sounds you will need here (also a lot of other instruments!):

http://www.philharmonia.co.uk/explore/s ... les/violin

Just load it through the audio file processor synth in LMMS (see instruction manual) and then you can play it.

I found one note sample with a 4 second duration and it proved quite flexible when running it up and down through the scales.

Best regards

Just load it through the audio file processor AFP synth in LMMS
Sorry, but AFP will not be able to use one good sample, in more than base-note position. A sampler is needed for that. Grace does work in Linux. I have not been able to use it in windows
Hi again,

Ok sorry about that, I'm not sure what Grace is but I downloaded a violin sound in MP3 from the Philharmonia website - which wouldn't load directly into the Audio File Processor, so I put it through Audacity and saved it as a .wav file and it then loaded into AFP OK. Here is the note I chose:

http://www.philharmonia.co.uk/assets/au ... normal.mp3

And this is then playable and sounds reasonable in LMMS from midway C3/C4 up to midway C5/C6 on the piano scale.

How do you get a sampler to work?

Best regards
Here is a 30 sec section from something I made earlier where I used the violin preset (made as above) - the violin comes in after about 15 seconds:

But the length will be wrong -That is the issue a good sampler will take care of

Linux-sampler works in linux, but afaik there is still no real sampler that does work in windows
We have had a long talk about samplers, and exchanged ideas and woes

But i could not use grace
Yes the length does shorten as the note gets higher - so all we can do is improvise.

Thanks and best regards
