Convert recording into MIDI

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to LMMS and music software in general.
I heard about a way to easily get ideas from you head to the piano roll quickly, by humming or singing the notes, then converting them to MIDI format.
like this: https://www.musicradar.com/tuition/tech ... daw-641094

Some software has this built in, and I was wondering if there was an easy way to do this in LMMS.
If not, is there a VST plugin that anyone knows of that can do this?
I tested the idea by whistling into my phone, copying the file to my pc, then converting it to a MIDI on some online converter website. Then I had to find and drag it onto the song editor.
It actually did a pretty good job of placing the notes, So I know it is possible.
Just the amount of time it takes to go through all those steps kinda ruins it.
I know i can plug a headset in and record straight to my PC to bypass one step, but the whole online converting process is a huge pain when trying to quickly add a few notes from your head to the piano roll.
Has anyone figured out an easier way to do this?
Thanks for your time!
