is it possible to chop samples and play MPC-like under Linux?

Depends on weather or not you can make linux-sampler run. LMMS does not have a native sampler

Thanks for reply and link to linux-sampler.
My task is not just sample chopping. I want to use chopped sample as an instrument inside LMMS, for playing different parts of sample for one note.
