Randomly dissappearing patterns in song editor

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Using Version 1.2.0-rc6 on windows, but I've had this happen in 1.3 also.

Sometimes I'll make a pattern in the piano roll for an instrument, save my file, and then exit out. Upon reentry, I'll see that perhaps the pattern I've recently written hasn't dissappeared but a pattern has dissappeared from the song editor leaving a blank spot.

Many times I'll get lucky and it'll be a pattern that I've copied and pasted multiple times in my song and all I have to do is copy/paste the pattern into the blank space. Other times it's a pattern I've haven't used anywhere else and I have to just completely remake it or think of something else because I can't recall how I made the pattern in the first place.

What i would like you to do is to solo-out the track that has a block that has disappeared, and then play the track!
I believe you will find, that the 'missing' block actually will play!
It may become visible if you drag the whole LMMS application outside of your screen, and then inside again. IF that is the fact, then the issue is known, but the reason is not known
1.2.0-rc6 on windows
RC8 has a few improvements. I recommend you to upgrade!
*If you have made anything ...Back-up your own stuff
*Un-install current installation
*(re)move the config dot-file
https://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=LM ... h_Settings
*download a fresh new installation-pack either x32 or x64 of
LMMS 1.2.0 RC8 Orange buttons!
https://lmms.io/download/#windows
32 Bit: https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/releases/d ... -win32.exe
64 Bit: https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/releases/d ... -win64.exe
*re-install as administrator and grant all users access
OK, I've updated. I'll try to do what you suggested if this happens again.
It did it again. All I know is that I added 2 new patterns to my project and then I saved. Afterwards, I copied one of the 2 new patterns since i wanted to base a new song off of it and then pasted it into a new project.. The pattern that was not copied to the new project was the one that dissappeared.:(

I did try soloing out the track like you mentioned earlier but no dice.

It did it again.
..Odd
I really do not know whats going on.
Could i get you to help us collecting information on this issue?
If you will help, then you must do as follows:
* firstly, you must stop saving as mmpz. Always save all new projects as MMP!
This is necessary in order to be able to disect the project in its fail state!
Secondly, -and this will be quite a task, you must name all song-editor-blocks!
If we shal be able to seach for a weirdness, we need to know what block has 'disapeared'

When you then get a new fail, where a block is gone missing, then do NOT do anything! eg Do NOT save the project again, just shut LMMS down, and then upload that project AND the file <project>.BAK to something like 'tiny-upload' and post the link to the file in a PM, in case you dont like to share your project, else just post the link here in this thread
We need both files :
1) Current project where blocks gone missing
2) The project .BAK file where the missing blocks ought to be preserved, unless its a block you inserted as the last action, befor the last save...... 8)
3) We need the name of the missing block

*phevfffff*

Its not a simple task :)
NB so far you are the only one who has reported this issue in RC8
-Eg its not possible to exclude, that you have a fault on your PC, most likely a HD-issue..
Ok, I'll post back whenever it happens again.
I had this issue occur for me when i first started using LMMS.

What i had been doing, was on laptop, closing the laptop into a sleep state with LMMS open, then i had the same problem you describe.

I now save what i am working on, close the project within LMMS, then close LMMS completely when i am finished.

It has never happened again.
