Not receiving any sound output at all.

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I'm attempting to use LMMS 1.2.0 on a Windows 10 Pro system, but I'm not getting any sound out of it. The settings keep to what they're set after restart, and I don't know how to configure SDL. Clicking on the samples in the left bar and using Triple Osc. to view if the "lamp" lights up on notes all return that the should be giving me sound, but I'm not getting any. Windows itself isn't reporting that LMMS is giving any sounds either, in Volume mixer and the Sound control panel itself.

That should be no problem

You mean you cant save settings?
know how to configure SDL.
does not need to be configured, just select SDL as your backend in Settings.

Have you installed LMMS in your WINDOWS folder? That will give problems!
I suspect that you have a write-problem for the config-file!
If you have windows write restrictions, settings cant be saved, and you cant use SDL

I recommend to remove current installation, and then install outside your windows folder! -and AS administrator!

There is a second reason for problems like yours. If you have non-ISO-characters in any path or folder name, windows cant use them!

Tell us the outcome :)

Besides that, since you are new in Forum

-A few rules and useful forum instructions
1) My settings stay as what I set them to, meaning I don't have the problem where people's LMMS' are switching to "dummy audio".
2) SDL provides me with an empty text box and won't let me close settings unless I put some valid configuration of some form in.
3) I wasn't able to install it in my Windows folder at all, meaning it's not that.
4) All my filepaths use standard ISO characters in their names.
So this is the problem:

Do you get a error popup, explaining anythin -Take screenshot!

Normal result of setting SDL as devise is this:

There is no need for any text-info -But your is different?
Success! SDL started working. Previously, it said something like "no configuration", but worked properly now. Thank you!
Hi there,
I'm having the same problem. No sound at all. Running Windows 10.
LMMS is not installed in the Windows directory. I tried moving the .lmmsrc file.
Set to SDL.
Any ideas anyone? Thanks!

No sound at all.
Windows 10.
LMMS inot installed in the Windows directory.
moved the .lmmsrc file.
Set to SDL.
yak.. You have done it all
I assume you also are on LMMS 1.2.0

I have to wonder about your soundcard, and drivers..
What about getting sound-output from other programs? Does that work correctly?

Please post hardware specification (ram & soundcard is the most important)

I also want you to try this
in folder: C:\Program Files\LMMS\data\projects\demos\
Double-click the file Greippi - Krem Kaakkuja.mmpz
If your LMMS 1.2.0 is installed correctly, that should open LMMS with this project!
Then just click the play-button
What happens?

I'm sorry, I should have spent more time understanding the BASICS of how this program works before posting on here!!!
I was trying to create a beat in the song editor instead of the beat+bassline editor!!
Now I understand I need to start with the beat editor and then arrange beats in the song editor.
I guess wav clips can be imported into the song editor but won't play.
Makes sense and now I can hear the sounds!

Thanks for the response, good to know this resource is here if I need it.
Now I can get busy! Cheers and thanks again!

They play perfectly fine, but you need to insert a note in piano-roll for each!
I would suggest that you give my Rookie-guide a shot -Link in signature :)
