MIDI Input Not Working

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello all,

I am new to using MIDI controls and audio software, so please bear with me. I found my old keyboard the other day, and ordered a MIDI-to-USB to try and use it with my computer. However, after plugging it in and making sure the drivers are up to date, multiple keys do not register within the software, but my MIDI cord says it is recieving input from the keyboard. Is this an issue with the cord, or with my keyboard? For reference, I am using a Casio LK-43.

In Settings, go to MIDI settings (the icon with the keyboard) and be sure to select WinMM MIDI (if you're on Windows). I think the default is "Dummy", which means that MIDI doesn't register.

I already tried doing this, but it didn't do anything. My keyboard has about 8-10 keys in various places all over that won't register, but every other key works fine.

If it isn't tested, does that mean it won't work properly?
It means we don't know.
It might work, it might not work.

Are you on Linux or Windows?

I have this one: https://m-audio.com/products/view/keystation-mini-32
It shows in LMMS, when its connected through usb. I can select it under midi.

I am on Linux, but can't imagine its really different on Windows.

When you plugged it in, did you get a pop up, new hardware found ?
I think the hw keyboard wont be a matter as it is pure midi.
If it s a hw problem then it is with the midu2usb device. Wich one is it?

It's on off-brand called VicTsing, it's on Amazon for 10 USD.

No, but when I checked my drivers, it was there.
I found this vid, and wondered.

This could be you're problem maybe.
Difference between USB and MIDI , and what type of usb to midi device or cable you need.
