sample problem (release click)

I got a real problem with a certain bass sample that has a clicking sound, I usually fix this using attack and release but this sample is weird, the click wont go away. Even if I cut the sample in half or cut the end off, the click is still there, its driving me crazy.

o..k That is odd..
So if at all i understand you, the end-note click is preserved, after you cut half of the sample away in like audacity ?
That would only be possible, if the sample has a resonance-issue. Have you checked if the sound stays in green/yellow area? Distortions from loudness can emerge as 'clicks', so i would start there, and also do some EQ-ing on the frequencies with the highest peaks
LMMS new (1.2.0) graphic EQ is excellent for that job
