Downloaded VST not working on sample track .wav file

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hi all,

I have a problem,

I have two VST's i downloaded, i want to add an effect over a .wav file i want to use, but when i try either of them it silences the audio playing, when i turn the effect off in the effect pane window, the audio returns.

This is not happening with the VST's that came with LMMS.

I have tried it on two separate PC's with two different downloaded VST's and it behaves the same way?

Any ideas why?

I had to read this several times before i realized that those are Effects-Vsts -right!
i want to add an effect over a .wav file :: the effect silence output
Unfortunately not an uncommon problem with VST-Effects

There are no VSTs included, in native LMMS
Any ideas why?
Yes, only ~10-15 % of VSTs Effects works in LMMS, whereas ~85%+ of VSTs Instruments, works like a charm in 1.2.0.
Two excellent collections of working effects, are Blue-Cat and Karma, but what specific effect are you missing?

Btw please give us the names of the failing VSTs, then we can add them to no-go-list, but even more important use them to figure out improvements in LMMS
Thanks for that reply, its a great help to save me wasting time and effort needlessly, the two offenders are,

What i was after was something that could give me an effect like syncopation, as i had asked you a question on another thread related to how a sound was made and you offered that as a solution.

Any suggestions?

Oh right- but that wont happen with either phaser or coomb
I know of one effect that can do scratch and studder, that is Glitch, but man is that a weird thing, and not all that predictable (I actually think that the prediction problem is 'ours', the continuous envelopes in LMMS does not retricker Glitch as it should) Afaik, there is 'no' short-cut for what you want. You have to manually cut the samples in Audacity, and stitch the pattern together -also manually, except

Just watched your tutorial now, very interesting, i had never thought of Automating the sample start and end point, i had altered some start and end points but never automated them, i will play around with that and add a few filter effects and see what i can achieve.

Thank you again.
