Can't open my project after LMMS crashed

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello! I was working on some project which I've already saved (there are .mmpz and .bak files in my folder). LMMS freezed and I force closed it, but after trying to open the .mmpz project it displays that I probably don't have permission to open it. However, I checked permissions in file's properties in file manager and I have them. How can I fix it? It happened the second time today. LMMS often freezes - i.e. the last time it happened when I was trying to play some sample, or it happenes almost always when I'm trying to save the project for the first time (when I'm changing partition C to D). I'm using Windows 8.1.

Ok, several things here.
It is obvious that you have some permission issues
First, set your shortcut to open LMMS as administrator, if you have that right!
You uses both partition C and D in your installation -Is that because C is a SSD, and you want to preserve cells?
It should be perfectly ok, to have your LMMS installed on C, but save projects on D, provided, that there are identical permissions on both partitions!!!

Your freezes worries me..
It is not possible to digest those without knowing more about your system. You should do both a disk survey, and run a check for your RAM, but its more likely hickups with those permissions on C v. D

If i had all these problems, i think i would get a brand new OFF. LMMS from our DL-page and reinstall
I also would not install on the SSD, but keep the whole installation default on your D-partition. You are not getting any real benefits from having LMMS on SSD (tested), RAM is influencing everything much more!

If you go for re-install do
*If you have made anything ...Back-up your own stuff
*Un-install current installation
*(re)move the config dot-file
https://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=LM ... h_Settings
*download a fresh new installation-pack either x32 or x64 of
LMMS 1.2.0
https://lmms.io/download/#windows
32 Bit:
https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/releases/d ... -win32.exe
64 Bit:
https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/releases/d ... -win64.exe
*re-install as administrator and grant all users access

Rem. to backup before you reinstall!
Let us know the outcome :)
Thank you so much, after running LMMS as administrator and opening the file with LMMS menu, I got access to my project. I noticed that the same happened to other projects - all of them don't open normally, only in admin mode. I have magnetic drive, not SSD, and I'm using different partitions for system/programs and data to protect data in the case of some error.
Now I noticed that I don't have to run LMMS as admin - when I run it normally and then open projects in LMMS, it works. Only opening files from file manager (double-clicking on .mmpz files) doesn't work.

Oh yes! theres something crazy going on with windows.. Even a prompt for 'direct-play' appears, but its great that you can run LMMS now!
