Synth not running on one install, works great on another

I have two LMMS setups, one on a laptop (cheapy Lenovo running PCLinuxOS) and another on my desktop (homebrew with a Core i7 running Debian Testing). I installed the "Abstractor" synth on both and it runs beautifully on the lappy, but will not load on the desktop; I even copied the same .dll from the lappy over to the desktop to make sure that it wasn't separate downloads leaving one corrupted. No love. Other VST's I have in both locations run just fine on each, this is the only one giving me grief. Has anyone else bumped into an issue like this, and if so, were you able to find a solution? The track is getting complex enough that it's starting to max out the processor on the laptop, so I'd like to be able to copy over and keep working on the desktop to take advantage of its better overhead.

does you get a freeze or does nothing happen?
Only and pretty obvious thing to say ´is :Different Linux, different functionality..
But you have an indication, that your laptop linux installation has a flaw. Have you fully updated on both pc´?

Are you using the same wine version on both computers ?

It doesn't freeze or cause a crash. I get the error that "The VST plugin /*path*/Abstractor.dll could not be loaded." It's stored in both places in the LMMS plugin folder.

Ironically enough, Debian is running 4.0.2-1 and PCLOS is running 4.0.1-1. I would think the newer version would be more compatible, but the plugin has been around for a while. Do you have a suggestion on where I might want to look for differences in the WINE structure that might be causing this?

Thanks.

You would have to ask about wine on the forum of you're distro.

One thing that comes to mind, the first time you started lmms, did you get a pop up, that it wanted to install mono?

There seems to be allot of issue, were mono does not get installed.

I have no idea on how to check this though.

Maybe this helps ?

I would however see if you can get it from you're distro ( a repository) , and not from wine directly.
