Problem getting old game .mid songs to work

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello again, I haven't needed much help with LMMS recently but I came across an issue when trying to use soundfonts from old GBA games in the SF2 player. I wanted to see if I could make some music in the style of old games (specifically fire emblem but thats not important) and I tried using some MIDI songs from the game first to see how it sounded but ended up with a lot of problems instead

Issues:
>Playback sounds strange, with certain instruments being louder than in the original tracks and not 'sounding' right
>What I assume is a snare drum playing at an INCREDIBLY loud volume and not sounding right even at lower volumes in track 7, no idea what to do with it
>I have no idea how the automation track works, so I don't know if that's causing any issues
>Some samples arent playing at all

WARNING I'm serious when I say the snare drum is loud, nearly blasted my ears apart trying to listen to it for the first time, this is the one in track 7, nothing like it in track 1

Links to both the soundfont I'm trying to use and two .mid files that I tried to play in LMMS that illustrated these problems

Plus the original songs:
this is number 1

this is number 7

Any help making these sound decent would be greatly appreciated, as right now I feel I don't know enough about LMMS to try fix it up myself

That preset is simply broken!
In Anvil the track is connected to 'gunshot' so that is an option. Then you should exchange the current FE7.sf2 with General-User, and use the gunshot-preset. That is what anvil does, but any real snare would be an option.
But i think bank7 patch46 in FE7 is working ok -try that!
(-Of cause you have identified the flawed preset?? -If not its the lowest one ... :|

Your FE7.sf2 is on the top of that, absurdly annoying in the way it names the presets
It makes no sense 'naming' presets "TYPE xxx@<digital-pointer>"
I got a suspicion : these presets are ripped from the game-disk..

If you right-click the automation-block, you will see an connection-information as last item. That should show what connect to witch, but again the MIDI-file ruins this feature. All tracks are named '0' and that makes is necessary to use visual inspection, in order to get a grip of the factual automation. This annoying problem, makes a strong case for a consistent naming-scheme in our own projects!
I recommend to rename all tracks.
Some samples arent playing at all
I found one, and it is not in use in the first MIDI -I diddent go through all the presets in the other, but find one that you feel fits the output, you can roll through all presets and all banks during replay on the SF2 in question.
