Calf pahser plugin

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Slow phasing yes.

I had not realized zynaddsubfx could do this on its own, but we can't automate it as you said. :(
We can only hope it will come one day.

We can automate calf plugins, so I went that way.

This might be the problem I am having though. I need to do some test probably with the calf phaser on a more simple preset then the jarre strings. There is a good change there is already some phasing there.

I found it weird, I could not slow the phasing down, what ever knob I turned.

I hardly know what jarre does with a phaser, but I have seen it. He has or had one, a box were he could turn the knob.
Found vid of what I was talking about.

Not 100% sure its a phaser though ?

Legendary instruments Jean Michel Jarre.

Sounds like a LP filter with almost a no or maybe very low res and a slow slope for the filter itself.

Did you gave stonephaser a try?

Woew.. That was interesting!
Imagine a sampler based on an array of taperecorders! :geek:
And the he said
"ehtre ahdha no memoriie, zo i have severeal ofes de same keind"
WAiT a second!!
He said w h a t??
His first synths for oxygene had NO memory! :!: ! -So they had to under power constantly, and ONE freq*n SUITCASE of hardware could only play ONE sound?!?
W O W !
and again
W O W :ugeek:

That is simply so unbelievable -imagine if someone had knocked on his door ..
" Hey Jarre -This called LMMS, i think you'l like that..............."
dropping of a 3 grams USB.... :D

Imagine the speed of development/ evolution in synth and softsynths ..crazyiii

But back on topic
Phasing
So here he actually did use a rather fast hz oscillation, nor sweep-like at all -surprised me..
zasfx can definitive DO that, but unfortunately only with a steady-state hz, because there is no connection to automation, so ye- A vst-plugin would properly be the right way to go
I dont know 'stonephaser', but BlueCat, that i have recommended since 1.0, also has a phaser, not super advanced, but it does have enough, but stonephaser.. give it a try

..but
Not 100% sure its a phaser though ?
well im not either
This could be simple vibrato
Phasing has more 'hiss' to the modulation, melodical hiss though, as the center-point of spectrum Q oscillates
Listen to there three chords
1 no effect
2 vibrato
3 BlueCat phaser
https://soundcloud.com/musikbear/dryvibrphaschord
His sound more like vibrato

I am looking were to download it.

There is allot of ladspa stuff in the official suse repositories.

Saw a vocoder plugin :o

ladspa-zam-plugins - A collection of audio plugins for high quality processing

Will have to some more searching, also if all these plugins should work with LMMS.
Also saw ladspa-guitarix - Guitarix - ladspa plugins

ladspa 32 and 64 bit :o

But no stone phaser.
Recently read something that confused and impressed me too.

It was about Equinox infinity. He did not use a sequencer like he didn't on Equinox. :o

And about LMMS, he would be very happy. :P
I know he did own one or more Atari ST, but do not know if he ever used those for any music making.

For the younger readers, in the early days there was Cubase. It had an Atari and Apple version.

No PC version (msdos version) , windows did not exist yet.

Pc from that time could probably not run cubase. The Atari and the Apple had an 32 bit processor, were pc had an 8 or 16 bit processor.

Allot of the sytnhs Jarre used are these days available as vst.
Found it:

https://software.opensuse.org/download. ... one-phaser
:D

It's an openSUSE server but as we can see, there is also an Ubuntu, Fedora and Debian version to download.
I got stone phaser working.

I like it, its more simple then the calf one, much easier to understand.

Then went back to the calf plugin, and managed to get that working too.

Probably will use stone phaser though.

Got to love Linux.
The easy way to install the plugin, almost worked.
Linux complained about a missing key.
( which I off course could ignore, but did not want to do that without asking for help on suse forum first )

Then I copied and pasted some commands into the commandline, which added the key and installed stone phaser.

Can Stone-phaser create the wanted effect, then? Have you cleared out in Jarres is indeed phasing or just a 'vibration/ Leslie-like' effect?
(think 'leslie' is actually only for guitars
I am not sure if this was what I was after.

For now can only say it works. Will have to do allot of fiddling to get it sound nice. ( graph in automation editor )
