Sidechaining problems?

Hi, I’m trying to side chain a lo-fi hip hop style song but I found that when I do it the kick becomes overpowering and with clip and sound distorted. Anybody else have this problem and potentially have a solution? I’m using the peak controller which can be found in the FX.

I’m trying to side chain :: using the peak controller
Sidechain is in essence just a dip in sound, of one or several instruments. The purpose ofcause to give more clean output for one or more instruments, in the dipped period.
Realizing that, it becomes obvious that sidechaining does not need a peak-ctl, but that sidechaining can be made with automation!
Drawing a curve, for the dip, is now std in FLs. and it gives you much better control of the output, imo.
I have made video-tutorial with several different ways to sidechain.
Take a look at that, and see if one of those gives a better output
