how to map LMMS-play/record to a MIDI-KB control button

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hi

I have problems to assign specific Keyboard Buttons to LMMS Functions. I'm able to assign e.g. keyboard faders to LMMS specific instruments.
Right click on the knob and a list will pop up.
In the list select "Connect to controller", a "Connection Settings" box will pop up.

But how do I map generic functions of LMMS like play/record etc. to my Keyboard relevant buttons?

Wiki does not explain how to map play song.

I know there are 10 presets on Oxygen49.Is any preset is a good starting point? Other DAW have Direct-Link (M-Audio controller keyboards use this form of automatic controller mapping) support. I don't know if s.th. similar is working in LMMS.

I'm very grateful for any hint on this.

Cheers,

Papago

Now i do not own any midi-hw, so i have no own experience, what i will do is to alter your topic title, and then someone who has own midi-KB hopefully chimes in..
Correct, this keyboard in the picture and working with Windows 10 and LMMS 1.2.1
Mapping LMMS play/record to a MIDI controller appears to be an open feature request as of 2021-10.

Yes. But i have a way to bind a modulation-wheel HW-controller to lmms.
I would like you to test if that method works on your MIDI-Keyboard

First make sure the KB is connected and that you can play notes.

Right click on the record-button and a list will pop up.
In the list select "Connect to controller", a "Connection Settings" box will pop up.
Make sure MIDI controller and Auto Detect are lit up, then move the Mod Wheel on your keyboard!
Often it will show as ch1, controller 2
Click OK and the mod wheel should now control the button.
you can set up other knob/slider control on a MIDI keyboard controller the same way, s a different controller (CC) number.
I know it has worked with the modulation-wheel, but unsure if it works with buttons.

Besides that, since you are new in Forum
