My project can't open, segfault

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Today I made a song using LMMS. then saved and closed the project.
A few minutes later, I tried to open it but it crashed soon and appeared the error message.

Code: Select all

fluidsynth: error: fluid_sfloader_load(): Failed to open '/home/karehate/Documents/lmms/samples/': File is not regular, refusing to open it.
fluidsynth: error: Unable to open file '/home/karehate/Documents/lmms/samples/'

** (process:14232): CRITICAL **: 17:00:20.498: ipatch_container_init_iter: assertion 'IPATCH_IS_CONTAINER(container)' failed
zsh: segmentation fault (core dumped) lmms
what does it mean?
It solved myself. thanks.

He diddent post how, so you need to reach out to him and ask what he did, but one reason could be garbage due to many sleeps, so i recommend that you shut down pull the plug, wait a min, plug-in boot pc
-then retry
If its a nogo
please post your:
* Name of your Operative System (Windows/ Linux/ Mac) And subtype ('Home' 'Mint' '10.13' aso)
* lmms version
* lmms sound device chosen
https://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=LM ... o_Settings
* hardware specification (ram & soundcard is the most important)

Hey musikbear,

Alright, first tip is to reboot ;)

so I tried open this file on Ubuntu 20.4. Since I have even completely rebuilt my operative System, there should be no issues with not installing the right drivers, or version. (I set up the new Ubuntu, AFTER I got this Issue with LMMS, and it still didn't solve it) I tried starting it on Windows, and it just worked fine. My chosen sounddevice is the usual ALSA, I've got 8 GB of RAM and my audio interface is a relatively new Behringer U-PHORIA UMC204HD, which doesn't need drivers.

Ok -it looks like your issue is with Ubuntu ao Ubuntu' usage of lmms
Unfortunately you forgot writing what lmms-version you have
You must use the AppImage from this page:
https://lmms.io/download#linux
I really hope you are not, because im running out of ideas fast..
