LMMS records MIDI but won't play it back

Let me start off by saying that I'm fairly new to using LMMS, so the odds of this being a beginner mistake are very high. However, I could not find anyone with a similar issue.

I have hooked up a MIDI keyboard to my computer and am able to hear the input through the piano roll. When I click record, I am able to record notes with my MIDI input, but when I go to play the track back through the song editor, I can't hear anything. The bar next to the VOL knob indicates that sound is playing and yet, I am still completely unable to hear it.

There are several possibilities for that.
1) Your backend is not correct

For all windows version SDL is best choice

2) You have by accident moved Master-output to 0
Two options for that
1: On mainUI :

2: In Mixer

3) You have by accident moved instrument -output to 0

4) You have in piano-roll by accident moved velocity to 0

5) You do not have a defined Default-soundfont, so the dummy-sf is all you have in the track

This one is a strong candidate, because you need to install the default soundfont yourself!
In the picture -Look where it says FILE.
There must be a reference to a Soundfont on your computer, and it must be placed in the slot you have defined in Settings!
I actually think this is your problem.

If none of these helped you please post your:
* Name of your Operative System (Windows/ Linux/ Mac) And subtype ('Home' 'Mint' '10.13' aso)
* lmms version
* lmms sound device chosen
https://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=LM ... o_Settings
* hardware specification (ram & soundcard is the most important)
* Name Mark and version of MIDI-Hardware
* Latency setting

Let us know the outcome :)
