Problem with .mid import

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
When importing .mid, only sound font plays.

I'm using Ubuntu and the latest lmms.

I installed the sound font, and placed it into the lmms folder, and it plays the font on lmms.

I then recorded a vocal track on audacity, and exported it as a .mid file.

When I import it into lmms, the sounds on the sound font play. My voice file doesn't.

What am I doing wrong?
Audacity can only export the note track as midi. Export your audio track as WAV and import it into LMMS on a sample track.

You can simply just drag any other instrument, or preset into the SF2 UI, and then yhat track will play with the whatever you dragged in

No that is impossible. A vocal recording can only be saved to disk as a sound-file, wave, ogg or flac are best options, if you want to import to a lmms-sample-track. (Currently we cant import mp3)
MIDI is not able to save as sound. MIDI is note-information only!

Besides that, since you are new in Forum
