Ok, my first question:
Do you run our AppImage
That is the only one you should use!
This one
https://lmms.io/download/#linux

Secondly: Have you followed the MIDI-install guide?
https://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=Using_MIDI

Thirdly -How to post picture is explained in the link i gave you on top :)

Let us know the outcome :)
Ok many thanks for the information.
At the end, with the .appImage worked fine.

A couple of questions from a newbie (I was not able to find in the forum)
1. is it possible to record a bassline/drum from my MPD exactly in the same way as the I record a keyboard or a synth?
2. the bass/drum plays only one instrument. Is it possible to assign to every single pad a different sound (kick, tom, hithat, etc)?

Many many thanks

Super!
1. is it possible to record a bassline/drum from my MPD exactly in the same way as the I record a keyboard or a synth?
If you by 'record' mean capture MIDI-notes, in piano-roll, then Yes! You can capture each keypress on your MIDI-hardware, that is independent of what type of instrument, you later assign to the track.
But real Recording as in resulting in wave-files, is yet not implemented in LMMS.We recommend to use Audacity!
2. the bass/drum plays only one instrument. Is it possible to assign to every single pad a different sound (kick, tom, hithat, etc)?
This one is more questionable, im afraid.
It is really a question whether your MIDI-Keyboard can connect to individual tracks.
I doubt it.
You may find a way, if you can do it as a MIDI-Keyboard-dial
A description of that connection can be found here
https://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=Us ... oard-wheel
But it is a very different thing, so again i doubt that will work.
It would very interesting to hear how it goes, so please report back :)
