AKAI mpk mini connection issues

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hi there.
I'm new to LMMS and after initial testing I experience some issues.
Previous I've used Garageband (Apple), which operated flawlessly with my hardware (AKAI MPK mini)

But now I have been trying to connect my keyboard to LMMS for some time, yet without any luck.

Though there are countless videos on the matter on Youtube, it's either showcased with an older version of LMMS that has different features, or their programs abilities (Windows/IOS for example) simply doesn't correspond with mine (I use Linux/Ubuntu).

My Akai is connected, but there's no feedback on the keys, drumpads nor knobs.

Can anyone please help me out on this matter?

Thanks in advance

On linux, there can be components missing, so you must make sure you have updated everything, but my guess is that you just need to connect in the right sequence. Read:

Let us know the outcome :)
Are you connecting the keyboard, and then start LMMS, the other way round will probably not work.

No i am not the correct person for that. I do not own a MIDI-KB
We have a list, but nothing there addresses quality and look-feel, only function
