Yes, there is, but what version of lmms does you use?

Besides that, since you are new in Forum

OooOo 1.2.2 and you still want to change it?
That surprises me a bit, could you explain why?

In \\Program Files\LMMS\data\samples\misc
Look for the file metronome01.ogg
You will have to build a new file with the same timing, and then replace the current one, with your new one..

nothing, just looking for some, more aesthetically sounded one
how can you even replace the sound or instal it? dont want to mess up the files. would also like to make a custom one too and then aply that sound. im sensitive to the sound it makes and want to change it too but the instructions are not clear on how to replace it and how to fix the tempo
Navigate to C:\Program Files\LMMS\data\samples\misc.
A metronome generally has two sounds. One is the loud one to signify the beginning of a measure and the other plays three times after that.
metronome02.ogg is the first sound for LMMS (2 is louder), and metronome01.ogg is the second (1 is softer).
Whichever sound you want INSTEAD, rename it to metronome02 (ogg format) and metronome01 (ogg format) and move them here, replacing the previous ones.
What musikbear says about timing: just ensure that the sound of metronome starts directly when you play the file and there should not be delay between the start of the file and the start of audio sound (beat you are using for metronome).
Alternatively, if you don't want to change files, or like the idea of having a separate metronome sound varying from project, just use Beat/Bassline Editor.

That error message is not from LMMS, it is from windows. You cant edit files inside library Program-files directly. Windows wont allow it!
You do need a program like 7.zip to be able to alter files in Program-files, and you do need to give extended rights to the file-change. You also DO have to be logged in as Administrator with full rights. Those are all windows OS prerequests and thy really have nothing to do with LMMS.
The answer is still viewtopic.php?t=33696&sid=f688f96d3392a ... 78d#p72471
Just to let us understand -What do you feel is wrong with current 1.2.2 metronome?
