Tempo resets from 116 to 140 after hitting play button

I edited two Beat/Basslines with Tempo set to 140. After saving the project I decided to change the Tempo setting to 116 BPM. After doing so, I hit the play button and the Tempo resets to 140.
I inserted an empty Sf2 Player to test if this would change the behaviour. It didn't.
I'm currently working with windows 10 and LMMS Version 1.2.2(win32/x86_64,Qt 5.4.2, GCC 4.9.4 20150716 (prerelease))
How could I permanently change the tempo of a project?

You mentioned SF2, because of that i suspect that you have imported a MIDI-file(?)
MIDI-files has hidden inbuild parameters, where playback BPM is one of them.
LMMS saves this information in a feature called global-automation. To get rid of that, right-click the BPM-gadget, and in the context menu select remove.global-automation. That should fix your current issue, if not post again

Yep. Do as musikbear says. That fix always works.
