One of the samples I was using changed to a different one

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I was using a sample, I added a lot of notes with it and added effects on it and then I was looking at other samples then when I played my song I saw how the sample I used was replaced with a different one and all the notes and effects are on that one instead and my original sample was no where to be seen

I think you accidentality have 'dropped' the 2. sample on top of the first. If you do that, LMMS will replace the 1. with the second sample. That is pr design. It also works for any instrument! You can always drop a new instrument on top of an existing one and the existing will be replaced. That is a great feature, as long as it does not happen on accident
When something like that happens, you should simply shut down without saving, and hope that the default backup has been active between the time where you had your perfect content -Witch then is backed-up, and when you made the big mistake.
