midi export loses tempo messages

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Why doesn't lmms include tempo messages in exported midi files?

When I import midi the tempo track comes in as it should. Exporting should include tempo track.

I use tempo-track editing to create rubato, rallentando, and so on. In detail. Down at sixteenth-note resolution, sometime several tempo shifts per measure.

Am I missing something?

You mean in the MIDI-export- Right?
Unfortunately MIDI-file export is flawed. There are some issues, that make lmms export several or all tracks into only one track.
Atm our midi-export does not work
Thanks for your speedy reply. Based on what I found in some related threads here, the news is approximately what I expected.

Are there any plans to fix the midi-export shortcomings, such as they are? I have some decades of software experience and might be able to help... .

Background: I'm resuming a project that I abandoned fifteen years ago. The sequencer I used at that time was Sonar3, on Windows XP; it gave me all the control I wanted, even a rudimentary macro language for scripted editing of my midi sequences and all of their musical parameters. I'm prowling for something similar today -- on linux -- but haven't identified anything yet.

I can use LMMS even with the hobbled midi-export behavior, but it complicates my workflow. It would be really nice to wake up some morning and find the problem gone.

Yes we plan to get midi export to work, and i am very interested in your kind offer!
Lmms needs coders! Especially for the bugs (criticals)

that blocks for the 1.3 release.

You can read all about participating and how to get your own repository, the methods for creating and submitting patches and the Master commits, Here:
