How to load native Linux ASTs (.so files)?

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I'm new to both LMMS and Pianoteq. The latter provides both Windows .dll and Linux .so standalone files for use with DAWs.

The .dll does not work with Vestige. I'd like to try the .so file but have no idea how to load or import it for use in LMMS.

Several hours of searching has turned up a few instances of people stating that it does work but no instructions on how to actually get the .so files into LMMS.

Can anyone save my sanity?

Linux .so files does unfortunately not work in LMMS.
LMMS support VST2 and Soundfonts.
If you are having issues with VST, it is most often a WINE issue
You can read how to use WINE in LMMS here:

I managed to have Amsynth working in LMMS through Carla.

I can't remember the file extension though, it was not so, but Amsynth is a Linux native synth.

The only problem with this solution, we can't yet automate knobs of stuff in Carla in LMMS.

Thanks; at least I know and can stop wasting time trying.
