tempo

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hi, i'm very new to the software and to music. Sorry if it's a very stupid question, but: can i use lmms for making music wothout tempo (for example ambient music) or I'd need to find another sw for that?
Thanks in advance!

Yes you can use LMMS. All notes and also all note-containers can be placed between 'tick-positions' so any sound can be be initiated at any time, also outside std musical-positions
To move tick-less
* Hold Alt
Click the item ( notes or note-container) you want to move and hold mouse, then drag
List over key-shortcuts:

Thank you very much!
I don't know if i've undestood your indications, but i think ithey'd work when you place the notes in the piano roll. What I'm trying to to do is to record directly with a piano midi with no tempo.
Sorry if i'm not understanding...

That is also possible.
You need to set the Quantification Q in piano-roll to 1/198. That is the highest level of freedom from Q-setting that LMMS has. You cant hear 1/198, so it is just like there was no Quantification at all. You are recording -Or rather capturing the MIDI-notes exactly as you play on your MIDI-keyboard, or the PC-keys
Here is a video-tutorial about just that
