sidebar issues

hi
my sidebar does not update my files. when i add files, make changes or save a project it doesnt register the changes. it works for the first time but after theat it doesnt update. it only registers changes when i restart lmms. so far i have a workaround wherein i open projects from file>open. but it is an inconvenience. am using ubuntu 20.04. please help
