Hi all, I have an issue that's got me pretty stumped.
I've been trying to set up a midi keyboard to use with lmms, version 1.2.2 on pop!_os 21.04 (linux). When I first booted it up, I could select one of the tracks in the song editor, and it would list a couple of midi inputs and I could select my keyboard.
Then I wanted to see if I could find a soundfont to get a more piano-like sound, among others. I downloaded GeneralUser GS, and copied "GeneralUser GS v1.471.sf2" into 'Documents/lmms/samples/soundfonts'.
Now though, when I click on that midi input button, it does not give me a list of midi inputs, rather two checkboxes labeled input and output. Clicking on them just toggles the checked state.
Can anyone tell me how to link up the Sf2 player with my midi keyboard?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT re-installed with apt-get, verified that MIDI settings were set to ALSA-Sequencer and 'default', restarted, and now it works. Not sure if that's what fixed it, but something did.
